Default Cab CB mount

Hey guys,

Getting ready to get my CB all hooked up but, I had a few questions about some mounts I have found.

Has anyone used this mount:

http://www.amazon.com/Sawtooth-HUMP-...0982030&sr=8-6

The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't attach to the truck, so I am worried about it tipping over during a hard turn.

This is what I really want:

But I don't feel like spending $50 on some thing I can make myself. So has anyone seen the above mount, or some thing similar for a cheaper price?

Thanks guys.

i bought the 2nd one you posted from Genos, and let me tell you its great mount. so easy to install. just unscrew the seat bolts and the mount slips right in, tighten the bolts up and its done. and of course you gotta drill holes for the cb to mount to the mount. and its not a cheap mount. very durable. i can take a pic of it mounted for you if ya want.

Yeah I have checked out this thread a few times, should have posted in there before making a new one, but didn't think about it.

I think I will end up dropping the $50 on that mount. Its exactly what I want. If I had a good metal bender I would try and make my own, but maybe I will buy a piece of metal and give it a shot anyway.

That is a good spot, I just wish I didn't have to kill my cup holders to put it there. haha

I think I am just going to make my own mount. I will use the design from Geno's.

Shouldn't be to hard to make that once I have all the measurements. I can use a grinder to make the bolt slots and I should be able to make the bends by standing on a piece of wood and bending the metal. If its to hard to bend I can break out a torch and heat up the metal a little bit.

Once it is done I can just paint it.

If I take this approach I will throw up some pictures of the completed job.
