Default No bus?!!!!!!!

1999 Ram 1500 SLT 4x4 --So after swapping out my broken 5.9 for a new one I got everything hooked up and no all it wants to do is crank over and wont stat. The instrument panel lights up but no gauges are working.Could it be the new engine had some kind of black enamel paint on it maybe nothing if grounding. I have no clue.

Ps . The engine was running before the swap, it just had a loud tick from the bottom half. Thats why i got a new one.

Find out what you are missing. Fuel, or spark. Verify all your grounds..... there are a couple up by the power steering pump, and at least one on the back of one of the heads....

Everything has been grounded. Also the negative wire coming off the fuse box to alternator has 12v .Im not
sure if thats normal.also if did not change out my sensors from my old engine is there a chance the new sensors from the new used engine are bad?cks crank case sensor and maybe the disributor sensor inside?

If you didn't take the crank sensor off for the swap, good chance it got trashed. Have a look, see if it's ok.

Your title is no bus. Are you getting that indication? If so id look to see if you shorted it out. Thats the com system between everything.

Default Fixed !

The crank case sensor wire was crimmped inbetween the bell housing and engine.I swapped it for my old one and it cranked right up.But when i took her for a test drive shes still ticks. Only under a load like goin up hill or when i get on it .I think the heads on this engine are f#*!ed or at least rod maybe bent or spring. The junkyard I bought it from said they will have there mechanic come look at it.

Btw somthing sesms to be missing.... i don't think a crimped crank wire would cause all the gauges to not work.

Yeah none of the gauges. worked and wouldn't start.as soon as i pulled the trashed sensor out it started right up.now its missing.oh well the owner of junk yard were i got it is going to pay to fix it! lucky. Ps the sensor wire was masshed between engine and bell housing creating an open circut. not allowing pcm to connect.
