suggestions of mods/perfomance ideas?
i just wanted ideas to raise horsepower mainly. or maybe either exterior. but its in great shape for a 1994. only one small ding and small rust under the driver door. underneath isnt bad at all either
Not really as much fun as bolt on goodies, but I'd suggest plugs, wires, and dist cap. Maybe replace the oxygen sensor. General tune up stuff. Check the fabled plenum gasket first. If its failed, you'll be wasting money doing the tune up. I replaced mine (intake manifold plenum gasket) for peace of mind, not sure if it was 100 percent necassary, but now its done.
Merc is on the money. DO NOT confuse the two the performance ECM IS NOT A CHIP. Those performance chips are useless. The late Smokey Yunick had a sign that hung over his counter in his garage in Daytona Beach. it said " Horsepower costs Money... How fast you wanna go?"

Well maybe you should mention that when you ask for mod ideas.... What's going on other than the chip you have installed to net you 300 hp?

1. What performance cam did you put in?
2. What heads did you put in, and what valves are they?
Or are you guestimating 300 HP at the crank. Because I would be willing to bet you 1000 dollars that you don't even get over 190 HP if you run your truck on a dyno unless you have put in a camshaft and heads...and roller rockers and an underdrive pulley.
A built 360 with a camshaft (RV camshaft for torque), RT heads, roller rockers and UD pulley only got 223 peak HP.

That thread is a good start for performance mods. You will never get over 300 HP without dropping about 3K into the engine.
Here is another good thread. Just 4 lbs of boost will get you 308HP:

Welcome to DF. And seriously, you are nowhere close to 300HP. There was someone here who dynoed his truck after he put a CAI on his truck and he came back here disappointed that he only got 165HP.
