So today I noticed that they hood release latch apparently fell out of whatever holds it and I found it in the bumper (pure luck it didn't fall out completely)
Anyways... of course the hood won't open now. So my question is, besides getting pissed and ripping the grille off, how do I go about getting the hood open so I can re-attached the release hinge thingy?
The hood will loosen up when I pull on the release handle, but it's still catching on something as it just barely won't open.
(Before my truck got hit and repaired, the old hood had a dent almost square in the middle from hitting a cow, the release handle thingy was gone and the hood would always open and close as it should)
Thanks.

Release the hood from in the cab as usual, get a flashlight and look through the honeycomb and you'll see a lever up top in the middle. Use a long screwdriver or something and push up on that lever. Hold the hood down a little to take the pressure off the (safety latch lever) while you push up with said screwdriver.

That's what I got, the red arrow point's to the backside of of the plastic piece that broke, which is why I was gonna use zip ties. Remember zman, certified REDNECK engineer.
