How do i figure out if i have a dana 44 rearend

Its simple. Dodge never built them with a d44 in the back. Half ton trucks have chrysler corporate 9.25 rear end.

You can also crawl under the rear end and look at the two metal tags on teh differential cover (if they are still there). Getting a build sheet is also helpful.

9.25 rear d44 front for 1500s; 9.25, d70, d80 rear d44, d60 front for 2500; and d70, d80 rear d60 front for 3500

Light duty 3/4 tons had D44 front, and 9.25 rear. HD 3/4 tons had D60 front, and 60/70/80 rear, depending on engine/trans combo.
