Default oil pressure issues...

So I have searched and read a lot of threads on this but nothing seems to be helping.

I have a 94 5.2.

New oil pump, sending unit, and pick up tube

Oil Light kept coming on so I dropped the pan again and double checked everything.

Took sending unit out and custom fabed my gauge into the cluster.

Fired it up. 60 psi at start up and then the truck warms up 10 psi at idle 17psi at 1500 rpm...

I feel like this is low, any ideas or is that ok?

Oh and I'm running 10w-30 and the filter is brand new.

Anything over 10 PSI at idle, and then right around 10 PSI per 1000 RPM is 'acceptable'....

I installed a high volume pump to compensate for the high mileage motor, and the loose bearings.

loose bearings.

if the motor is not ticking or knocking, and you have a new oil pump, its probably got plenty of oil flow to lube it - you just don't have high pressure. you could go with a high volume pump like hey did, but its optional. its better, but not required.

Thanks. I definitely don't have the money to fix the bearings right now. I'll upgrade the pump next weekend. It was just freaking me out.

I believe there is DIY thread for changing the pump. May want to look over it before you start so you know what is involved. And don't forget to prime the new pump! Good luck!

I just installed a Melling Hi-Volume, I see 15 psi WHEN CRANKING!!!

At idle I'm sitting right at 40 psi.
