Default The infamous rear brake line behind the tank

--sorry, moving it to the tech. discussion--

So, I have the blown brake line that runs between the tank and the frame on my 1995 Ram 1500 2wd. No biggie, i head over to my favorite dodge forum website. Looks like a reasonable thing to do is going to be to disconnect the old line front and back and just run the new line.

Back end of the line where it connects to the rubber hose disconnected, no problem. With PB blaster soaking overnight, the fitting came right out.

Which of the connections at the front (at the cylinder somewhere I presume) belongs to this line? There are two of them that it could be either one of.

Thanks!!

Some people on here said the line goes all the way to the front, and others said that it goes to the ABS valve. I do have a big round ABS valve, on that same side of the frame, and there is a brake line going to it as well.

How do I find out where this line connects to on the other end (without dropping the tank, that is)?

My manual is on the other computer.....

Have you downloaded service manual from FAQ/DIY section? I would think that if you look at the pictures of the master cyl and the ABS system, it should indicate which line runs to the rear.

Is it the line running from engine bay to the tee on the axle, or from the t on the axle to the wheel?

Need pics. But, the line is solid going by the tank. The rear you already got loose. the front goes to the left front junction block just behind the wheel well liner.

Yeah looking at the manual now. There is a picture of the line that goes to the back brakes.

The only other thing I am unsure about is there is a large cylindrical part halfway towards the back that looks like it has break lines going to it.

The manual says that ALL RWAL brake components are under the hood. so, need to figure out what that big round thing is.

gonna go take pics and post them later today. I think i know where the line comes into the RWAL valve under the hood, but the strange part under the rail is what puzzles me. pics coming.

There, merged the two. That should be nice and confusing as well.
