Default Need some help with my trans.

I have a 1999 1500 with the 46rh. My trans was shifting great except for the 1st-2nd shift. It would only shift out of first when you let off of the throttle. Over the weekend, I replaced the governor pressure sensor and selonoid and the filter and gasket. Took it around the block to test it out and now when I put the truck into drive or reverse, I have to rev the engine up before it will even engage. Then it slams into gear. The 1st-2nd shift is still the same. Need some help please.

You have 46RE.

Verify fluid level is correct. Have to check it in neutral, checking in park will give a false reading.

Well so far I have checked the TV cable, checked the fluid (at operating temp. in nuetral), changed the fluid, filter, and changed the Governor Pressure Sensor and Solenoid. Down to the last thing I can think of.....I am going to try and change the Transmission Speed Sensor tonight. If that doesn't work I'm just going to take it in to the tranny shop, unless someone on here has some other ideas?

Check the connector on the driver side of tranny. Remove and clean and reinstall.

Forgot to mention that I also changed the Throttle Position Sensor.

Did this happen over time or just suddenly? Sounds like band adjustment may be off.

Try adjusting the bands. If that doesn't help I'd say the TC and/or tranny are shot.

It just started to do it all of a sudden. Changed the transmission speed sensor and that didn't work. So I took it to the tranny shop, and found out that the 1st-2nd gear delayed shift was actually the tranny going from 1st-3rd. He also showed me that there was no 2nd gear band anchor in the tranny at all. He said the problem could be just putting a band anchor in it, or that the second gear bands are fried. Anyone know how hard it is to put the 2nd gear band anchor in? Looks pretty easy to me, but would like some advice.

Well got the band anchor in over the weekend and adjusted the bands, and am happy to report that was the problem. She shifts like a dream now! No problems at all.
