Default oil disappearing. I know it's been talked about

I know people have brought it up but I just need to ask this. All the threads that I've read have been about other motors and I just wanna see of there is a difference. I have the 5.2 and keep loosing about 2 qts and I just changed my oil 320 miles ago. I'm not seeing any smoke out of the tail pipe and the plugs are not covered in oil either. This is why I wanted to ask it. So please let me know what y'all think. And I keep reading change the pcv valve. I put one from autozone in but I also read that those are not that great and I should go get one from the dealer. What y'all think

Look down the throttle body for oil. If you don't see any, take the throttle body off and take another look. If you find oil, its the plenum or pcv system. If you find nothing you've got a leak. Rear and front main seals, valve covers (including the back of them), oil pan, oil filter, etc.

my 98, 5.2L has 280,000 some miles, have noticed: oil down the back of block, most likely valve cover, but my #8 cyl plug oily so, am loosing rings. just some of the reason i am looseing oil, and on occassion (and doesnt happen often) have seen a puff of white smok out the exhaust. other than that, still runs good, but needs facelift.

Ok so I looked at something real fast and noticed that the hose that connects to the the driver side valve cover and goes over the engine to the intake is ripped and has oil under it. It's not alot but some. Could that be some of the problem

That side I do believe is the side that sucks air from the air box, into the crank case. If you are blowing stuff out on that side, either your PCV valve is inadequate to the task (wrong flow rate), or, you have some really bad blow-by.

Which intake does the hose go to? Intake manifold or air intake(air cleaner housing)? Sound like manifold to me. Repair the hose cuz that's a vac leak too. And replace the pcv with one from the dealer. Take a pic and post it if you can.

a fouled #8 plug is the biggest sign of a blown plenum gasket... which is likely what the po has too if not just blowby from worn rings..
