Default torque converter stator?

i am looking at a tripple disk trans star TC or a single disk revmax TC. both with low stall stator and both are with in 100.00 of one another. i am told that revmax custom cuts there stators and trans star mills down a stock factory stator to allow more fluid flow.

is this milling down vs custom cut true or does it matter?

what torque converter should i go with?

the current TC has 320K miles on it and the truck might be 1-2 hundred HP above stock.

revmax is 399
trans star is 560 through my builder

Behind a V-8? Revmax will prolly be adequate to the task..... They both seem pretty pricey though. Although..... ya get what ya pay for.

Ah, I would go for the meaner one then. Some serious money, but, it's a serious converter.

im looking at 1600.00 to rebuild on the low end and maybe 2100 high end. im talking to my builder today to finalize parts price, labor will be 500 plus beer and 100 for dyno. im trying to figure out what version of the borg warner clutch packs i want to go with but i cant find any good info on them online.

i was debating and did alot of research between teh two companies. my builder says the red egals go out faster and i did find that the warners absorb more fluid and have thicker steels in there kits so should disapate heat better. in the end i came down to the warners.
