I'd want to get a remote filter on that transmission straight away. They catch finer particles than the internal filters do, so the fine clutch material that's going to be freed from its hiding places by your recent service won't get to circulate back around and wear away the expensive parts.

What kind of filter should be used as a remote filter and were would be a good place to add it.

It would cut into trans cooling line going to radiator. Someone that has done this may be along shortly with a source.......(so I can add one when i get the chance as well.....hehe...)

EDIT: Here is one on ebay...I have a Derale pan on mins: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Derale-Remot...sories&vxp=mtr

They look to run form $30 and up.

Google search shows more and some of the same ones as ebay for less money....

if you can find one with 90* fittings it make the hose routing a little cleaner.

ABout the gaskets. I was STUPID and when i did a drain and fill, I threw away the thick gasket (metal with hard plastic coating). I also got that derale cooling pan. I realized that the OLD gasket helped with preventing overtorque from bending the thin metal of the stock pan. The derale is not much thicker.

ALSO, when getting a drain and fill from your local "lube and go" they tend to do freakin CHIN-UPS on the bolts when they are tightening them. On my 1996, I looked at the pan one day because i noticed a leak, and it looked like the bolts were RIVETED in there.

Does the dealership sell the hard gaskets?

I got a reusable gasket at the dealer thae first time I replaced my governor pressure soleniod...(I would remove yours and clean the screen at the bottom...it will shift a lot smoother and you'll be glad you took the extra ten minutes while your in there...
That fluid looks like motor oil.... ATF+4 is best but if your gonna flush it again very soon you could likely get away with using an additive and one of the newer universal fluid for much less....your call.... the ATF is kinda pricey stuff to use it for a few days and toss away...I'm willing to bet by the condition of that fluid the PO used whatever he got his hands on anyway...

Yea I did put in the atf 4 only because its gonna be a good 2 3 weeks before I get to change it again as I am moving. Augiedoggy are you talking about cleaning the governor pressure soleniod

yes, judging by the stuff on your dounut magnet you are gonna have a lot of that on the screen filter at the bottom of the governor pressure soleniod. You can clean it off with carb or contact cleaner.
