Default late upshift???

I've been having some troubles lately with my 1996 Dodge Ram (Indy 500 model, 360 CI, Auto Transmission).

First, I could not get it to start, but after cleaning the terminals on the Park/Neutral position switch and reseating the connector on the three prong plug on the transmission case, I was back in business. Although occasionally, it takes two tries to get the starter to engage; almost like the connection on the Park/Neutral switch is not quite 100%.

Now, I get a very late upshift to 3rd (3500 RPM or so), and it is almost as if the overdrive is not working at all. Transmission fluid is at the proper level. Any ideas? Possible relation to Park/Neutral switch or separate issue?

Thanks

Might be related.... if the PCM thinks the trans is in park, or neutral, it sure as heck isn't gonna trip the O/D or TCC solenoids....

Might wanna replace it, and see if that doesn't make a difference.

Was my thinking too. Although, if the connections were corroded elsewhere, might want to check all the electrical connections on the transmission and make sure they're good as a starting point.
