Ac and heat works but doesnt blow out front
I am thinking I either knocked something loose or what? I can run both ac and heat but its only blowing like defrost. It worked fine before I did the head gaskets so I'm sure its simple. I thought I was on on my vacuum line but found out today that where it Ts at. I do have a broken line. its the line the connects to both the intake as well as the cruise control. Haynes book kas nothing on this that I can find. sling some ideas you may have that I can check for. Its running fine and idles at around 600 rpm. kinda low to me but she purrs nice.
There should be a sticker that shows vacuum hose routing for your engine under the hood somewhere. (emissions label.) Your broken vacuum line is the likely reason your vents won't switch. They are all vacuum powered.
Hey, I have looked that sticker you speak of but wasn't real sure about it but will try again. I didn't realize that the vents were vacuum controlled.
Gdstock. I remember you speaking of that vacuum line on the passenger side and its there and connected the the same line that is broken so its a matter of finding the other line and I haven't so far. I just will have to continue looking till I find the other line that part of it. its just weird and its sounds like I broke it not knowing about it or seeing it. Thanks guys.

Tried that to see if maybe a cap got knocked off and it didn't work. I just need to find the other side to fix it. The problem is that the book doesn't help and I haven't found another line thats hanging out there to put them together. its obviously important for the vent open and shut. Hey You said they are vacuum controlled and gdstock has a good idea of the are Im speaking of. I thought the same thing as you did about sealing it up but then my vent system wont work. I am going to take a picture of it tomorrow and maybe somebody who has around the same year model can take a look at theirs and find the line to follow it and give me a area to look for mine.

There is a check valve in the line - if it is backwards, it probably would cause a similar problem.
There are 2 lines that go into the firewall. One up high just under the hood gasket, and one that goes through right next to the upper evaporator core tube.
Maybe this will help, LOL. T.C. = transfer case switch. C.C. = cruise control. Man =manifold. Low = the line going through next to the evap core upper tube. High = upperline going through firewall just under hood seal. . Don't laugh at my drawing.

Believe me when I say, its great for me as well as you explained it out and where to look. Thanks,
Found water back in the oil so now it go back and replace the timing cover gasket and water pump. I thought it looked good from appearance and thought it was my gasket that was the only thing leaking. banged myself up beside the head and going to fix that now but it will have to sit again till I get the cash up. Hate working on a shoe string budget........ At least this should solve the problem.
