If you aren't going to spring for a tuner, get the rockers.
Why not both? The roller rockers along with other bolt-ons would be complimented by a tuner. Thus opening up more power from the engine. Of course the "box programmer" (SuperChips 3815) could be suitable, but the general consensus is the SCT tuner from Hemifever. Correct??

Do both. Keep in mind, that although the SCT is some what better, it does not do tire size if you have bigger than stock tires. The Super Chips does. I use the SC because of that. When/if SCT decides to add that, I'll buy one in a heart beat.

Dumb question, is it possible to use both tuners? I agree with Zman, I like the ability to compensate for tire size.

Not gonna happen using 2 tuners. One will overide the other IMHO. Of course I could be wrong, but it will also cost twice as much to do so.

Won't the superchips feller do JUST the tire size, and not change any other parameters?

merc225hp,

That stuff is great info. I'd probably choose the same cam based on your description. What cams do I want to look at? Are they just called R/T cams? I'd stick to the pre approved mopar plan but I'm having trouble finding where to buy the parts. Are these being ground by aftermarket companies as well? I'd like to do more reading about these cams.

Yea, but to put a tune on, normally everything has to be put back to stock. So who know's without trying? I certainly am not going to be the that tries and possibly hose the PCM.

I would do a cam, but I don't like the idea of having to take off the radiator, tranny cooler, AC condenser.... It just seems like such a big job. If I had a week off, i would do it. OH, plus the fact I would want new heads with the cam, and rhoades lifters and hardened pushrods. Plus I would ditch the 1.7s and get 1.6 RRs as to not mess up the cam specs. I am looking at about 2200+ in parts there.

2200 is a lot when I could just get a rear mount turbo kit for 800 dollars more.

ALSO, I don;t like dropping that much on the engine before I do things like new suspension components and probably new calipers, lines and maybe brake cylinders. And My truck only has 55K on it, so the suspension is not beaten...just old.
