So I pull into the local Dodge dealership because I saw this really nice lifted one ton black on black on the lot. In conversation with the salesman we started talking trades. I have a 98 ram 2500 2wd sport. Ext cab shortbox. fully loaded.. The salesman tells me he has never seen that before....didnt even know they made them. My father ordered the truck in 98 to pull a fifth wheel as the V10 had a better tow cap than the diesel. Do I have something rare here? Truck never did pull a 5th wheel... just my boat to the launch and back. Miles are super low for a daily....only 200 000k or 100 000miles. Was thinking of trading in on newer iron maybe a 1500 hemi. Or should I keep it. What is she worth? Closest I found was a diesel same year with double the miles for 4500... I was hoping she'd be worth maybe 6k?

Just dont wanna trade her and find out she was one of only a couple hundred or something....

Im in Vancouver BC.
As far as options go.... and not being too specific as I dont have the build sheet in front of me. Its loaded. Leather. power everything. remote start. heated mirrors . fog lights. tow package. runningboards. chrome rims. hard box cover. auto rearview dimmer. black ext with tan interior ...the wood grain look inlay on the dash... quad door ext cab. Body is pretty fair to clean. Dad put dual exaust on it....and had a new intake manif...under warranty..two minor nicks.... nothing major....no accidents...

 

Clean Trade-in (which I think you qualify for) is 4800.00 (american.) Clean Retail is a hair over 7K.

I can't find anything on production numbers...... but, you DO have a nice truck.

 

I guess you need to ask yourself how happy you are with the gas mileage on that V10 lol. I work at a dodge dealership and will vouch for the much improved fuel mileage on the 09+ 1500 hemi's. May be worth your while, although that v10 does have some wicked torque haha!
