Dodge ram plenum repair, now missfires
i unplugged the inector today to see if that was the issue but the engine to respond from it being unplugged so im wondering if its just being restricted. idk im going to send it to senior auto tommorow. if they figure it out within the next few weeks i'll let you guys know, cuz i just don't have the time to be working on it in class
let me see if i've got it right.
truck ran fine before, just used a lot of oil.
plenum repair was routine, no major malfunctions.
but - you did remove the injectors, correct ?
-truck now running like ****
-P308 cel for #8 misfire.
-P??? cel for lean condition.
cat removed, didn't help.
compression checked, ok.
plugs, cap, wires replaced or checked.
spark present at #8 wire.
no water in oil
no water running out tailpipe, or other loss of coolant.
no loud whistle sound from vac leak.
vac gauge reads normal.
this is what i would do.
0. check injector wire #8 as suggested.
1. remove plug #8 and put it in the wire and ground it, turn engine and verify plug #8 is actually sparking.
2. disconnect plug wire #8 while running and listen for change in how it runs. i'll assume it has no effect. maybe repeat that test with each cylinder but that might be a waste of time because the pcm can detect it faster.
3. swap injector #8 with another cylinder. reset pcm and see if the cel code moves. inspect (and ohm test) it during the swap to see if somethings up with it.
i think the #8 injector might be not spraying.

When I hold my rpm's at 2500, the gauge stays at 22" . Until I let off throttle, then it drops back to 18. Maybe there is something wrong with mine. LOL Some one else with a gauge check please.
senior auto used chrysler DRB and found o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 was sluggish. removed and was filled with carbon build up. I'll replace it tomorrow and let you know what happens
Yes. And like zman stated, it does not clog instantaneoulsly - it occurs over a period of time until it turns to a busted up brick inside.
