OK my truck has a very hard time starting this just started over night, it turns over and over then if it dose start the hole truck shakes. I replace the ignition coil. and the fuel pump is working. plenum replaced.
Other times it just starts right up.

With a gauge. Should be able to rent one at the parts store... of course, you need to test when it is being hard to start.

 

could fuel filter be clogged?

 

Try turning the key on and off 4 or 5 times first (without starting). Then see if it starts. And does it do this after sitting overnite or anytime? (like even after it's started the first time)

 

I would suspect a cracked distributor cap. Mine did EXACTLY what yours is doing, mostly in the morning when it was more humid with a dew covered truck. I replaced the distributor & rotor cap together & the problem is now gone.

 

Good call, that's where I was going after I found out if it didn't start even after warm up. Then I was going to move on to the ECT sensor.

It is starting, just running crappy when it does. It's worth testing it at least. I'd also check the cat. Maybe pieces are moving around inside.
