Default corrosion fix?

Hows it going everyone?

I have a 1998 Ram 1500 5.9 auto 4x4.

I was out playing one day and my battery somehow moved from its seating and fell on my fan belt. I had driven from TX to MS by the time I figured it out, and the damage was already starting to take place, I replaced the battery and attempted to wash what I could. Now corrosion has taken hold of much of the engine bay.

Is there any way to reverse such damage? Or do I need to upload pics for a case by case thing. Thanks for any help!

Mix some soda with water, and liberally flush off the engine, and any other affected parts. Try and stay clear of electrical parts. (that would be baking soda, not coke. )

Does it matter what kind of soda? And is there a ratio 2:1 or just wing it? and just so I'm right,

soda+water = mechanical,
baking soda+ water = electrical?

regular arm&hammer baking soda. the stuff that comes in the yellow-orange box. toss that in all the places that are corroded.
and i dont think theres any set ratio. i always put dry baking soda on, let it sit and then rinse with water. i repeat that a few times

Make sure that your battery is disconnected.

Put the soda in the affected areas, and rinse with water CAREFULLY. do not "go to town."

Thank you everyone for your information, I'll be giving it a shot today, picking up a replacement bed, front bumper and passenger fender. Diff color then body, so sanding is going to be fun lol.
