Default In deep sh*t, HELP!!!

Hello everyone, this is my first post sorry for not introducing myself elsewhere, but my name is Jon I am 18 and i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2L V8.

The heater core was starting to go bad and i could tell because when i turned the heat on, it smelled like brown sugar. Also there was water on the passenger side floor... I don't know where from???

I manned up and changed out my heater core myself, but now when i put the dash back up, and tightened up a few screws to hold it in place, when i lift the steering column to tighten it to the dash, the bolt and the hole on the steering column do not match up... Anyone experience this before or can tell me what happened? thanks all help is appreciated!

Is the dash and frame all the way back into place? Which direction are the holes off?

it is sitting on the two main screws by the drivers and passengers feet, and the 3 of the two screws up top by the windshield. the two ones are the ones on the steering wheel side.. is the way the dash sits adjustable with the way the dash sits on the bottom screw by the door?

Never heard of this problem before. Is the dash all the way towards the windshield ? All the bolts for the dash should be in and tightened, before installing the column. And there are two bolts that hold the the column to the dash. And in the future, would you please tighten up the thread titles please? This is the tech section you know. How many people are going to search for a dash/ steering column related problem under, "In deep sh*t, HELP!!! " ? Welcome to DF

Hey Im also 18, we're the young guns of the forum. First off welcome to the forum. Second of all make sure your steering column isn't just too far back(towards the seat. Lift up the column towards the sky and push it towards your engine bay. I thought something was wrong at first too but it just slid towards the seat so iu pushed it back and all was perfect. Also make sure the front of your dash is actually in place and basically touching the windshield. Hope this helped, goodluck.

The screws are too far away from the firewall to go in. It's as if my steering wheel has shrunk and went in about an inch.
