Speedometer doesn't work, and no O/D
Well i've actually grounded the brown wire with a switch and it still wont go in. I have noticed it seems to shift better/lock up the converter sooner if I have the o/d off swith turned on on the dash.
I do have a trans temp sensor on the line coming out of the trans. Could that switch being bad cause the problem? And would it just affect overdrive and not the tcc lockup?
I called the shop and he says the o/d was working yesterday when he test drove it, but I can't say I believe that. I don't know how fast he got it going, but I know the area the shop is has low speed limits and the o/d didn't kick on till 50+ when it was working for me.

Here is a shot in the dark but, i had the same issue with my durango. turned out that it was a bad NEW battery. From what i read dodge trucks are very picky with the proper voltage. In my case the battery was not giving the proper voltage for everything to work correctly. Sad part of it all is that my bad battery tested to be a good battery with autozone's battery tester...
Once i replaced the battery with a new duralast gold everything started working again and so far all is good...

Well I wont say that's impossible. I'm more tempted to believe the alternator could be slightly weak though. I have noticed that when i've got my headlights on (they're HID's) my volt gauge is a little under 14 when with them off its normally right at 14. Its a factory gauge so no saying its accurate though.
Man I didn't know these were that touchy to little voltage differences. It is a new napa battery, seems to start and all that fine but I suppose it could be the issue. I'll check all the main power/ground connections and clean them to help rule corrosion out.
Just wondering did you ever get it working??
Turns out for me the battery was not the only issue.. after a few days my O/D stopped working again.. Turns out my speed sensor on the trans was failing...
After doing some research i learned that there are 4 things that help the PCM determine its okay to go into O/D
1. TPS
2. Speed Sensor
3. manifold vacuum
4. Coolent temp sensor

I got them fixed at one point, one of the wires going to my speed sensor were split up above the tranny. Once I fixed that it was golden for a few days. Then o/d went back out, but it turns out that a bad ujoint cracked my o/d housing. So now i'm back to no o/d and a pretty neat tranny leak until i get the money together to get it fixed and find a car to borrow for a few days.
