And I added some fluid to top off the tranny and now my overdrive doesn't seem to want to work again. Tcc lockup still works fine, but overdrive has only clicked in once since I topped it off.

Check fluid level in neutral. Park will give you a false reading.

Speedo still working? Shouldn't hit overdrive till about 45 MPH, you should be right about 1500 RPM at 55 MPH.

Yeah checked it in neutral. Speedo is still great, cruise control, and tcc lockup work fine. At 55mph i'm around 2100 rpm I believe.

It did sit a few years, but it worked when I first got the speedo working. Then I topped off the fluid and removed a heatsheild off a cat that was rattling and it no longer wants to go in. Its worked once randomly since then. Nope the only code is a 12 which is the battery was disconnected in the last 50 start cycles(I replaced the battery when I first started working on it)

Hhhmmm.... I think PCM provides ground path for the solenoids... might check the connector on the PCM, make sure it is clean, and tight. Maybe the solenoid is just unused to actually working. Might be a tad sticky.

Very well could be. I've been keeping my fingers crossed. I was thinking about resetting the pcm, and also unplugging and looking at the connectors for the overdrive/tcc lock up and the trans temp sender. Just to make sure those are both good

Well I checked the connectors for the tcc lockup/o/d and the trans temp sender. Both connectors looked good. no corrosion and all the wires looked to be in good shape. Anything I can do to test and see if the trans overdrive unit is fine to find out if its wiring, or a shot o/d?
