My bad. I got to checking the voltage of the ECT sensor it came back as 5.2 volts on the tan/black and 0 on the black one. The meter i have is weird when its not on a steady volt like the battery or the connector the volts will just go up haha to like 200 volts until it touches a actually volt then it drops down to the correct volt. Thats why i was getting 15 to 20 volts before cause there wasnt a secure connection with the positive. Since im getting 5.2 volts what could this mean?

Get it warm, so it starts exhibiting undesirable behavior, and retest the voltages.

When i tested it it was warm..... The only undesirable thing about it is my gauge not working and my truck idling high and running rich. If i plug the plug in backwards so the gauge goes up the motor stops running rich and the idle drops but my gauge then is telling me well over 210

Would installing the thermostat upside down cause this??? How should it sit in the housing with the ball round end facing up and the spring looking thing into the intake?

Spring goes into the intake.

ECT sensor is just a variable resistor. Shouldn't matter which way you plug it in.... (note: Shouldn't......)

If you get a stable five volts to the sensor even when things are getting strange..... there's gotta be something else going on there... Trouble is, I am not sure just what that would be. Either the PCM is losing the signal..... or, the PCM itself is at fault.

Threw further research of my sensor i have found out that the dumba$$ advanced auto gave me the wrong sensor because in it there is only 1 prong..... not like 1 broke off but just 1 of the 2 prongs i am getting new one soon. I put old in to see if it would work and no but i think its just bad because the connector on it is about to come off and i can see the 2 wires underneath it. Anyway i sprayed my motor off of all the coolant that went on it and now my truck wont start........ Im about to roll it off a cliff. It will crank fine but not fire. Idkkkkk whats wrong

Without a coolant temp sensor...... PCM thinks it is -40 degrees out..... and DUMPS gas. Try planting your foot to the floor, and give it a crank. (might pull a plug or two, and see if they are wet.)
