Default 1999 dodge ram (i'm new to dodges)

i have never owned anything other than ford powerstrokes and i am looking at a 1999 dodge ram 2500 diesel 4x4. it has 220000 miles on it and i am wondering what i should look for and what has to be replaced around those miles. is there any standard problems that dodge has? just some comment from dodge owners that will help me.

Make sure to check the blinker fluid.

J/k welcome to DF. I haven't owned a dodge diesel so I really have no input.

53 blocks have some issues, you don't want one. Also, do a google search on "killer dowel pin"..... easy fix for that one though. Standard or auto trans?

220K on der diesel does not scare me. Look for the usual wear parts on a high mileage vehicle though...... (ball joints, steering components, and such.)

Was the KDP an issue with 24v's? I was under the impression it was just 12v's.

The autos in the diesels were much better than the ones the v8's got. But still get a stick.

The kdp is an issue on both 12v and 24v. Although when the 98.5-02 24v's were made, they updated the case to prevent the kdp..but if you look on any Cummins forums, there ls plenty of people who still get the problem on their 24v. So 12v its very likely, 24v is a lot less unlikely but still happens.

I'm actually hoping to trade up to a 2500 so what does "Kdp" stand for?
