I have a set of 17inch 2nd gen rims that are just sitting around i was thinking about putting some tires on em for the winter

Your current rims maybe a little narrow for them to fit the 12.50. Just looking at that tire, it would not make a good winter tire!

im starting to think that there may be something wrong with these because of how cheap they are. Maybe not street legal or dot approved. I guess the winters here arnt that bad for snow so im not to worried.

To be honest I have never seen a tire with a tread pattern like that other than forklift and other industrial type rigs.

Those are some wierd freakin' tires man. Why do you want them? You'd have to hot knife the crap out of them to give them any kind of real grip from them...
