i'd call it the drive shaft yoke/flange. it's splined, slides onto the pinion shaft, and attached by a big nut.

its the rear end equivalent to the front yoke on this t-case.
this is the closest pic i can find

but it its like whats on the front it just bolts to it.. is it like a 2 piece set that you can buy? one half slides on the pinion and the nut is on it then the other part that acutally holds the u joint bolts up with 4 bolts. does anyone know if they have different sizes?

Check the different weight rating trucks.... of course, the bolt patterns will probably be different as well.

Any particular reason you want to go with a larger joint?

lol actually that you said that.. i have been looking through craigslist and this man has a dana 60 for 200 bucks.. but its from an 80s dodge ram cummins? i think.. paired with a dana 44.. will this fit as in the same axle width? im not sure if they have changed over the years.. all id have to do is just mount my perch on that axle right?

If you are willing to do the fab work to move the perches, it will fit. It might fit without the fab work, but i doubt it. Also if your truck has rear wheel ABS or if the speed sensor is in the diff (I don't know about the later 2nd gens) it will not work.

Also you may have to address the gearing.

The older 60's won't work in the newer trucks. No provision for the speed sensor back there, and that's where the speedometer signal comes from as well.....
