Default muffler sound

SO i know there is a ton of threads about this but i want to get opinions on my setup. i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 sport with 5.2 and it curently has a thrush glass pack with two 18 inch straight pipes coming off with a 45 at the end. Its a pretty crappy setup its all clamped together. But i want to know what flowmaster to go with with a single in single out. i know for sound everyone will say goto you tube but they all sound different. Im looking for a deep loud growl sound not a extremly loud hot rod drag racing car lol. Im not putting a full system on just want to swap out mufflers.

I went with 40-Series. I like the sound not obnoxious but just a good deep growl. I deleted my cat and replace the restrictive Y going into it. Then I just dumped after the muffler. Sounds good to me. Could post a short clip but cameras aren't sensitive enough to catch the true sound.

YouTube really is the best to watch to get a feel for what you want. Search ram 1500 super 44, or 40, 50 series, 10 series etc. and look for vids with your stock setup and just the muffler. Having just a muffler won't make it too loud, so just pick a tone you want.. Super 40 and 44 have more "growl" and the super 10 is a bit deeper, 50 series is a bit quieter. Hope that helps

I'm looking for a deep growl without a lot of crackle in it.

The thing with using youtube that a lot of kids fail to understand is when using cellphones or tablets to check the videos, their speakers do not have the capability to reproduce the lower sound spectrum that they are looking for .. so everything sounds totally different on there for many...
in this case use headphones. You will get the truest representation..

And (This is just my opinion), remember the more racket the truck makes, wont make it any faster. While its nice to have a deep mellow sound these arent harleys. It just draws more attention to you when you get smoked by all the other harda$$'s that the noise attracts....I went through the same thing with my vette... is sounds a lot faster than it is and every kid with something to prove trys to make an example of it at stoplights... it gets old when you grow up... a deep sound= is respectable, I'm just saying you can overdo it and just going for loud makes a lot of people look at you like many of us look at those kids with coffee cans strapped to their unfinished half primered flourescent 4 banger compacts...

I have the super 40 and it's prett much amazing.

It's not too loud when cruising around like an old man, but when you step on it people know you're there.

I know you've already decided but performance wise Magnaflow mufflers supposedly have better performance gains over flowmasters, but I think flowmasters sound better
