Default A/C Compressor not kickin' on

So when i did my plenum i swung my ac off to the side and it got a couple micro scopic pin holes that leaked my freon. Well its 100* here in az and no ac is killing me right now. Im gonna order new lines in about a week when we get back from a trip but till than i was gonna try to rig it. I got some jb weld to try to temp fix the line, hooked up the r134a gauge and put in freon till it was in the ok area. Compressor didnt kick on though. I tried to switch the horn relay with the ac relay to see if the ac relay was bad but still wont. I got the connectors hooked up properly, tried to wiggle the wires but nothing. Any idea?

Needs to be in the OK range while the compressor is actually running...... try jumping the low pressure switch, and see if it kicks on.

ok nevermind, i jumped the switch and it kicked right on. If i replace that do i have to evacuate the ac? If so then can i just leave it jumped so i have ac now and when i drain and replace the lines i can do the switch and evacuate and refill..

Check your pressure with the system running. My guess is, you are still low..... once you have it filled adequately, take out the jumper, and see if it will run with the switch hooked up. If it won't, yeah, replace the switch. You might lose a bit of refrigerant, but, if yer quick, it won't be much. There is a schraeder valve in there....

ok ill give it a try, so i dont have to evacuate the system than to replace the switch? and looking it up theres only a high pressure switch, theres no listing for a low pressure so is that what the switch on the accumulator is?

Yeah, low pressure switch is on the accumulator. Don't have to evacuate to change the switches. (either of them)

grab the right parts manual for your truck from the faq section. You can look it up in there, and it will even give you the dodge part number, which the parts store should be able to cross-reference.

JB weld on an AC line, really? It's not the switch, the system is still low. But here it is anyway.
