Default Fluctuating water temp

Okay guys I have 180 tstat e fan underdrive pulley for the pump and camshaft .. The tstat was failsafe. Changed it today to a stant flushed it out . Because of my problem which is the temp guage goes up to 180 then goes to 200* when I hit the gas it goes to 215* back to idle its 200* I've jacked the left side let it run high heat for 30 min squeezed hose .. Come on guys I'm stuck

Which temp sensor did you replace? Two wire, or one wire?

The one wire one from napa they told me to put Teflon tape on it which I did but that was odd

It's pipe thread, and grounds thru the manifold..... no teflon tape please.

Sounds like you might still have air trapped in there somewhere.

Idk I drove it for two hours straight let it idle for almost an hour switching from no cap to cap . This is the 2nd time in a month of drained the rad and refilled I was hoping my sensor was bad cause I can't burp this beast

Yeah, I hear ya on that. My heater core still gurgles, and I parked my truck on a hill at my parents that had a HUGE pucker factor..... still got air in there. Some of these trucks are easy, some are a pain.... guess we know which ones we got.

My heater throws strong heat .. Once my truck says 205* my efan kicks on and that was set at 180 that's why I'm confused

it may be that the teflon tape is interfering with the sensor, and giving you false readings. Although, I would expect that to go the other way.......

Edit: Hot ticket may be plugging a scanner into it, and seeing just how accurate your gauge is.

I have an obd2 scan tool. Yeah it's weird give it gas it get slightly warmer (210*)at idle it goes to 200*

Was your truck doing any of this before you installed the e-fan?
