Unhappy Tranny pan replacemsnt

hey guys. I found a nice red puddle under my truck today. I crawled under to see that the transmission pan has rusted through near the cat converter and is bleeding fluid at a pretty good rate. Has any one changed theirs? I assume if i get one from a junk yard it will not be in any better shape. do any of you know where i can find a good one under a hundred bucks? I found this on amazon any thoughts on this?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=dotinfo803-20
Its a 99 5.9 slt cc i think i have a 46RE i have a build sheet somewhere. Ill change the fluid and filter while its off.
Any tips or advise will be great
thanks!

The ebay one looks to be a OEM replacement, which is fine. Going by the picture of the amazon.com one it's deeper which would require more fluid and appear's to have a drain plug.

So either one you want will work. Just be sure to fill it back up with ONLY ATF+4

I would not pay $77 for an OEM pan. The $129 Derale would be better for the little difference. Has drain plug. port ofr temp sensor, and cooling tubes. Deeper pan would increase fluid capacity and reduce heating. I bought one from a member here and really like it.

Go to a local tranny shop - they may give you one off a scrapped tranny. Or a few bucks at a JY - but NOT $77 for one!

if you are looking on ebay for one you can get one cheaper than that. you just have to search using the right words.

Try here. I bought one for my mom's truck after the front u-joint in the front drive shaft broke and smacked the pan hard enough while whipping around to punch a big hole it in. I think it was about $34. It came with a silver coating of some sort on it that I cleaned off and bolted it on. They inspect them before they will sell them, so I wasn't worried about it, and it was in great shape.

I found them on Ebay, and then just went to their website. Hope this helps.

Searching seems to save money! I thought about offering ther OEM pan that I removed, but can't help but think shipping cost would exceed the price that it could be found locally.
