Default A/C, MAP sensor wire harness

The signal wires to the A/C compressor and to the MAP sensor broke, from heat I guess. I spliced the wires back together with butt crimps but I'd really like to replace both sets of wires from the AC connector back and from the MAP Senor back.
Has anybody had to do this?
Do the wires terminate at the PCM?
Is this a pretty straight-forward job?
Any idea on the price of the harnesses?

2001 Ram 1500 5.9L Gas by the way.
Thanks

Grab the 01 service manual from the faq section, and have a look at the wiring diagrams. Some wires hit splices here and there.... they also like to change color.......

Yeah, I looked at the manual and it was kind of confusing, that's when I asked if anybody had replaced them.

You most likely would have to replace the entire engine harness. You'd be better off getting some shrink wrap, a soldering iron, solder, some die electric grease. And some split tubing to protect it.

Yeah, the dealer said they only sell a pig-tail or the engine harness (for like $1200). If/when this repair fails, I'll probably get new pig-tails and make a solder joint.
I used the higher quality butt connectors and shrink wrapped them. I also added some additional split tubing.

You should be good then. I prefer solder personally with heat shring and new convolte tubing. Heat and age make the plastic brittle.\\I am going to pick up AC connectors and a few others for the engine the nest time I am at a JY. I prefer to make an adapter for splicing things in such as e-fans to keep from making a rats nest of wiring.
