Default Tires and transfer case swap?

I want to give my 2002 ram 2500 5.9 magnum (gas) more torque I heard you can fit a Jeep rubicon transfer case in Rams but what year rubicon? And if theres any modifications need to be done like driveshaft or sensors? And now I have 265/75/16 tires on the truck would 285/75/16 be any better?

Just change your gears. Going to a bigger tire will not do anything but make it feel like a slug. The Rubicon transfer case most likely wont work. There isn't any sense in upgrading the case either. Unless your going to a full blown crawler then I wouldn't worry about it. The tcase in your truck is perfectly fine

If you go to the 285 tire you are going to need 4.10's gears front and rear. If you want bigger tires then go 4.56. This will keep your trans from burning out.

And since you are looking for more torque, go a size lower than recommended for whatever tires you run. So if you kep what you got, het 4.10's. if you get 33's, go 4.56's. For 35's go 4.88's. etc...

I am in the process of collecting parts to install 4.88's in my 2500. I'm about to run 35's, and want the extra torque for towing/hauling/driving stupid

Just making sure the OP is also aware of the plenum issue also. Before spending lots of money on other things.

Plenum, plenum, plenum. Very important. I can tell you from experience that if you just replace the gasket you will have problems again. I did mine at 100k and now am having the problem again 48k later. F***! I was going to go with the huges intake but now am just going with the kit instead. I am not too keen on beefing up this truck too much. I already burn a lot of fuel as it is and it is my daily driver.

^^^ Did you shorten the bolts as well? Or just replace the gasket?
