Default Front wheel bearing hubs

I purchased two wheel bearing hubs for my 1500 2whl drive 2001 Dodge Ram. I am old school. To change the front wheel bearings all I had to do was pull them out put new races and bearings done. Now I have to bust my butt pulling hubs. I never done this before. Do I need a air impact Hammer (the one that looks like a chisel on the end) I do know I have to use the impact wrench to remove the big nut. Tips how to any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks bunch

Change it out just like any other unit bearing. (hub/bearing assembly) The nut that holds it all in place is torqued at something near 175 ft/lbs..... so, don't expect it to come off willingly. I believe on the 4x2's, that nut is not reusable either....... Should say as much on it if that's the case.

I didn't use a impact to get the big nut off of mine. I used a piece of 1'' ridgid conduit as a cheater bar and jumped up and down on it for five minutes. After that, it's no big deal. Slide old off, slide new on. Might oughta pick up a new cotter pin, as well. Just a heads up.

97 is different than a 2001. And is yours a 4x4 or 2wd? Might want to add that bit of info to your sig and profile.
