I had a gremlin (AMC) do that to me once.... took off the drum, and ALL the brake parts hit the parking lot.....

 

The gremlin had gremilins?

 

Big time..... the car was pretty much indestructible though... I beat the SNOT out of that car, and it didn't even notice. Off Roading, fire roads, delivery driver in a huge city, all sorts of rude and nasty driving, in all sorts of nasty weather..... (Upper Peninsula for awhile....) It just kept going.

Lots of good shots with it all together. That should help OP. The pics in the FSM did not match my truck. Had heck of a time trying to reconstruct that mess.

 

They(dodge) changed the configuration quite a few times through the years. Which is why having a Haynes, FSM and only doing one side at a time is so important.

 

Thanks but I meant the cable clamp that attaches to the frame before the cannister.I looked@another truck&figures out mine was m.i.a. I fixed it.Thank a ton guys

Did they change what side the ebrake runs on years? Mine is driver side.

 

I would not think there would be much to change on that - for thirty years or so! But I have never seen the need to jack with that. Only disconnecting at the shoe lever.

I got the wire out of the wire connector that is the farthest forward. I didn't have a long socket on the adjuster. That would be the best way. Then unhook. Just remember the location to the best you can for adjustment.
