+1. Lots of choices. Hardest question should be where to locate it!

Not really. That's the easy part, in the output line as close to the tranny as possible. Trust me on this one.

I meant the gauge itself....column, dash cubby hole, A Pillar....those choices!

You would be checking the temp in the pan, after it went thru the cooler. If your trans is overheating, you want to know LONG before the fluid in the pan is overheating...... by that point, it would be too late.

isspro and autometer makes some good gauges. avoid glowshift gauges, they are junk and have a high failure rate.

you can get gauges for pretty cheap from jacob @ dieselautopower.com or jamie at cumminsperformanceparts.com their phone numbers are on their websites. I've done business with both, and they both have top notch customer service and they will both price match any retailer you can find the same thing cheaper at.

They generally deal with us diesel guys, but as far as trans temp gauges go, they are pretty much going to be the same...as for mounting positions you can either get a single dual or triple pod pillar mount, a single column mount, or a universal dash mount. its up to you and how many gauges you want to run.

for a gas engine you probably just need a trans temp and maybe oil pressure/temp. If you ever put a turbo on your truck you would want EGT, boost, and air/fuel ratio gauges.

for the diesels we run EGT, boost, fuel pressure, and trans temp. we don't care about air fuel ratio gauges because we don't need a gauge to see that! LOL if its rolling coal, its runnin rich, if its not smoking, its actually burning all the fuel we're stuffing into it!

I have 3 GlowShift in a pod on the A Pillar and have had no problem (except trying to watch the AF mixture change while driving...).
