My Performance Plan-What do you think?
So I just jacked up my truck and tried it out. And sadly...I have an open diff.
I spun the one tire and the other one spun in the opposite direction. So now idk if it's completly open diff or the LSD is worn out becuase there no build sheet, no sticker on the axle, and the sticker in the glove box is there, but worn out to where you can't read what it says. Is there a way to still get a build sheet from Chrysler? And mabey put an LSD in my truck?

If you decide to install an LSD, spend some extra dough and get something better than a Trak-Lok. They suck. I would get an Eaton Truetrac if I were to go LSD. Do a google search to learn more
I believe that "posi" is a GM term.
I think it's Anti-Spin Differential on our trucks. And it depends on the option's from the factory, if it's 4x4 chance's are it's got a LSD rear end, if it's 4x2 I'll bet it's an open diff but you can either 1. Get a build sheet from Chrysler, will have all the option's for your truck, 2. Check the sticker in the glove box (if it's still there, if there's NO mention to LSD or Anti-Spin then you have an open diff) or 3. They put sticker's on the axle itself, chance's are it's gone but you can give it a look too.
I went from 16"s to 17"s but choose what I found to be the normal stock tire size for a 17" wheel...
And even if your truck has an open diff it IS possible to spin both tire's.

GM always referred to it as "Posi-Traction" (with the hyphen and capital T). My dad's 12-bolt equipped 68 Pontiac's owner's manual and sticker on the trunk lid (warning for jacking the car during a tire change) called it a "Limited Slip Differential"; the word "Posi-Traction" never appeared anywhere on the car or the documentation.
It's basically come to be a generic term for LSD, like "coke" for cola, "Band-Aid", etc. So, since almost no-one, including GM car owners, actually has a Posi-Traction rear diff even if they do have a factory LSD, I generally just accept it as a generic term, not in reference to a specific part.

Posi-Traction refers to specific GM limited slip differentials. For the most part people who claim they have a "Positraction" diff really don't ... as far as I know GM only used the trademark during the 50's and 60's and only on GMC and Chevy 12-bolt trucks. The Truck and Passenger car 12-bolts are not identical.
