Default 2001 Ram 1500 break/speedometer issue

I have a 2001 Ram 1500 sport edition and recently the speedometer wouldnt kick in until I reach about 25MPH. I changed the speed sensor on the differentail and the transmission which partially corrected the issue. Now, it doesnt read until the 8-10MPH mark. Also, when I am slowing down and get to the 8-10MPH mark, sometimes (10% of the time) it will lock up and slam to a stop. While slowing down to that 8-10MPH and sitting still at a light there is a clicking noise that comes from the front of the car around the driverside firewall. Does anyone have any ideas?

You might want to pull those sensors and see if they are hitting

What brand rear wheel speed sensor did you get? Sounds like you got a bad one to me.

+1 Does sound like you got a bad one for sure. I went through three that I bought at AutoZone so after that I just went to dealer and let him bend me over. I was just tired of playing the exchange game. Don't remember how much it was but think it was about $55, which isn't too bad.

EDIT: Disconnect the battery while changing.
