Default adding overload springs?

well, i came across the overload spring pads, and springs from a 2001 2500 diesel, and i was wondering if it would be possible to install these on top of my 1500 springs?

im going to be upgrading to d60's f&r as well as the rear leafs, and all hardware come tax time 2013.

so if this is possible, im all for it! ive been doing alot more heavier duty work with my truck lately, and the extra capacity would be great!

thanks in advance!

Diesel springs are going to be 3" wide, your half ton springs are only 2.5". So, mix and match probably isn't going to work.

If you are going to change to D60's at some point though, change the spring hangars as well, and go with the 3" springs.

^^^ +1 on going to 3" springs. Then you will really have a 3/4 ton. While you are talking about helper springs, I have been thinking about adding overloads to the bottom of my leaf pack to give a touch of lift out back, and cuz it wouldn't be a bad idea for a truck...

the springs im talking about go on top of the leaf pack like this, and have their own pads they hit before the spring pack itself starts to give in.

these are the spring pads/stops http://www.ebay.com/itm/120901663858...84.m1423.l2649

thses are the overload springs http://www.ebay.com/itm/360448778453...84.m1423.l2649

there are 2 different auctions, one contains a 2 leaf overload pack, and one contains a 1 leaf overload pack.

I have always heard those referred to as helper springs, because they help boost your load capacity BEFORE it's maxxed out, while the ones I am considering, the really thick flat single leaf that sits between the leaf pack and the block or perch only start doing anything once the truck is loaded down completely. Hence the term (well, the way I understand it at least ) overload springs.

i already have that leaf, and it doesnt do me any good, because i have an aal. i have been loaded down with loam, to the point of my bump stops being 3" from the axle, and that spring wasnt anywhere near touching the leaf pack.

oh, and my sig pic.... thats close to 7k pounds and that bottom flat spring never even came close to touching then either.

thus why i want to get the 3/4 ton/1 ton overload springs.

way more than im willing to spend for shipping, considering id have to pay close to 200 used for it. which would make it closed to 300, when i could go and get the same kit brand new around the same price, with free shipping. thanks though!
