Gutting Cat + Lift
I just Put a rough county lift on my truck and let me tell you man that is a pain in the ***. i had to make a few different trips to the local lift shop for things like spring pack bolts, shorter ubolts (the ones they sent were about 6 inches to long). reading the site it say's that its also a leveling kit.......thats bs my *** end sits lower than my front end. and to top it all off the 35's i had put on rub when in a flexing situtation. but i will tell you i put dick cepek fc-IIs and I absolutely love that tire!!
dont forget to save about 1,500bucks to have the gears swapped to 4.56 ones to compensate for the 35's ...or you'll likely be spending more on a new transmission when the 35's burn it up with the wrong gears...... keep in mind your MPG will drop too so be prepared.. (if you put the 35" tires on with 3.55 gears the truck wont be able to get out of its own way and will be very sluggish to drive...Why no one has mentioned this yet is confusing)
Ironically even though gears are one of the most ignored areas of lifting a truck because of cost they are ultimately responsible for a good amount of the threads here which are about related issues from not addressing them like the truck being sluggish and having no power and transmission shifting issues and lets not forget our favorite brought up in a new thread every day... gas mileage...

That's what I was thinking... but the fact that they sent him parts that did not fit the kit is a bit sketchy, and the fact that his tires rub if springs are compressed. Is this normal for a 5" lift with 35s or should there be plenty of clearance.
With the right back-spacing on the rims and a five inch lift with 35 tires, I don't rub anywhere, wheel up in the well or on my lower control arms. Get a good quality lift-kit and research back-spacing for your rims and you will be fine.
I guess I'll just save up for a nicer lift kit that includes the add a leaf. And when i was looking for gears earlier today I couldn't find a set to save my life. Where is the best place to buy a set of 4.56's for my truck? And if I bought these could I possibly install these myself or is it a very complex install? I think I will just go ahead and install the rear 4.56s as soon as I get the lift so I don't have to worry about any tranny issues and just make sure I don't throw it into 4wd until I get the front gears installed.
WAfrican, Skyjacker makes some good kits from what I hear, although it's expensive. You could always piece together a lift from various brands, topguncustomz.com & jackit.com should have most of what you'd need-5" coils, 2" AAL, Track bar, pitman arm, etc. This cost is significantly less by doing it that way...
As for gears look here: http://www.ringpinion.com/ or just google ring & pinion sets for dana 44 or chrysler 9.25. It's a complex install and recommended to be done by someone who knows what they're doing. But, many have done it themselves-so if you have the tools and have some know how, then by all means.
