1999 dodge ram 1500 axle off center
Hi all,
So my problem is my dodge's front axle is shifted probably 2 inches to the passenger side. It has a 5 inch suspension lift and 35's with a stock track bar and I know the axle will be pulled to the drivers side when you put on a lift but what would cause it to be the other way? This has been bothering me for a while, I would appreciate all the help i could get.
Thanks

Stock track bar?? Are you sure the axle is shifted? As about the only way that could happen in the situation you describe is a bent frame.......
Did the lift come with a drop down bracket for the track bar? Maybe you just need an adjustable one? I would take a long, hard look at ALL the suspension components before doing much more driving on that.

I would assume if the track bar is OE, that there is either a drop bracket that isnt correct for the lift, or, the frame is screwed up.
Did you install the lift? If not, is it possible that whomever did, relocated the track bar mount on either the axle or frame and put it in the wrong place, or planned on lifting more and only wanted to do it once?

get yourself an aftermarket adjustable track bar made for 5"+ lift...
stock height adjustable track bars can only compensate for 0-4" lift...5" lift requires additional drop on the track bar.
DT pro fab, carli suspension, and thuren fab, all have good track bars...just get one made for 5"+ lift and you can re-center your axle with it. track bar or bent control arms are the only things that can effect the axles position from side to side.. ride height and control arms control the front to back position of the axle.

The frame doesnt look bent, but is there anyway to check to see if it is? because it has brand new control arms on it so i know those aren't messed up. but if you look at the front the shocks and springs are angled a little to the passenger side.
The lift did come with a drop down bracket but if you put it on it tries to push everything even farther. Even with the 5" lift it seems like it needs a shorter track bar to align it.
Everything underneath the front end is solid and it doesnt have much stearing play going down the road. It just confuses me how the front end got off so much.
