Default Help....I cannot find where to replace my crankshaft position sensor on my 97 5.9l

1997 5.9L 3/4 ton diesel need to replace Crankshaft sensor. Where is it located and how do I go about doing this. Husband is out in the middle of no where with little phone service, text works but no calls or internet. Has the part but cant find where it is on the truck. I have been searching on internet for him but can't seem to find the info to send to him.

Go here and download the FSM, 1996 should do fine for you.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-manuals.html

Then open the pdf file and go to page 8D-4.

Good luck

Look in the faq section, there is a stickied thread with Service manuals in the title. Grab the 96 service manual, it will be almost exactly like the 97. (I don't think there really are any differences....)

It's on the front of the motor, near /behind the crank pulley/damper.
