Question Backfiring thru the throttle body and more

Hello everyone I'm new to mopar completely I bought a95 1500 with a360. The reich is popping thru the throttle body no matter if its cold or running temp the hotter it gets the worse it gets ive put a iac, tps, fuel pump, intake gasket upper and lower ,timing chain and gears and used a dealership drb2 to set the sync on the distributor. So all that money and time and its got alot better than it was bur its still acting up I need some input because im lost now and it also has 8 new injectors. So please if anyone knows anything else please help me

Ouch.... Need to do a compression, or, preferably, a leakdown test on it. Sounds like a stuck/burnt valve.

That's what I was thinking and I have a extra set of heads but didn't want to waste my time if it could be something else thank you for replying so fast it is very much appreciated

Happy to be of service.

If those are just the regular stock heads you have as a spare set, have them checked for cracks before you go to the trouble of installing them. Factory heads are VERY prone to cracking...

Odessa/Clearwater offer better than stock heads for under 600 bucks. Thicker castings.... something to consider if you have to yank 'em anyway.

I will second on stuck, bent, or burnt valve. My s-10 did this.

Ok thx guys I hope this works and these heads have been ported and polished bigger valves but stock casting but im gonna give it a try thx again

You did everything except replace the cat and o2 sensors. Was the lower intake gasket shot?


And add the info about your truck to the sig AND profile please

I got new exhaust from manifolds back including a duel in duel out cat. And a new o2 sensor tomorrow I'm doin the leak down test and we shall see what happens thx everyone again

Ok bad news compression on all 8 cylinders are at 125psi specs say mo less than 100psi leak down test had the same results for all 8 also so what now I'm lost
