More likely to be bad cap/rotor, or plug wires.

Do you have a code for the temp sensor, or are you just guessing?
As HeyYou stated, most of the time a cracked cap can allow water/moisture to get inside and restrict your ignition spark... and check wires too.

Thanks, just guessing on sensor. Cap and wires are original, very possible thats the problem then?

Thanks for the quick responses. It's rainy season here in Fla and nothing more frustrating than not being able to jump in and go. I'll follow up on your suggestions when weather clears

When the truck warms up, it effectively boils off any water.... or at least, makes it evaporate rather quickly. Let it sit, and cool again, and water condenses in places there shouldn't be any water.... giving you some odd performance problems.

The words "rainy season" clued me in.

OK, the neigbors are going to love me tonight when I keep the dry-out at 2 a.m. starting. That's when the next band of showers are coming through!
