clean everything REALLY well. Look at the splines on both parts. I have seen some that have a "blank" where the splines weren't cut, so the shaft only goes on one way.

You may need to take a wire brush to it ti remove the paint. Rub some brake fluid on it and let it sit for a few minutes and maybe it will make it easier to remove the paint from in between the splines with a wire brush.

Yeah i could see the D shape. Its got to be the paint stopping it. I need to get some paint thinner. I don't know why they painted the splines that was dumb.

If you bought a POS gear box from autozone, it is very possible the splines are f'd up. Don't try forcing that nice Borgeson shaft on it. Or you'll ruin the splines on it also.

I'll get a pic as soon as I get a chance. Now I have another problem though.. I cant seem to get anyone to get my alignment just right. Is it that hard to do with 315-75-16's? On top of that when i changed out my steering stuff I didn't secure the steering wheel. Something inside the steering wheel fetched up and sounded like it snapped and my airbag light is on now.

You broke the clock spring. Ooops. Bet your cruise doesn't work any more either.

What do you mean by "can't get the alignment right"??

^^^ Ohhhhhh so that's what that slight grinding noise I have heard when turning the steering wheel since the day I bought the truck is. And yes my airbag light is on. Every now and then little strips of copper come out from between the steering wheel and column. I just throw them out the window and keep driving...
