Default Anyone have trouble with installing a borgeson shaft?

I bought a steering box from auto zone and a borgeson shaft. I cant get the sob on the new box. I haven't tried the truck end of it yet because its too hot to fiddle around with right now. The splines look like the right size but wont slide on.

do you have the notch lined up with the notch in the steering box?

Theres not really a notch on the shaft itself. Its round with the hole for the screw to tighten.

The only thing I see could be the fact that they painted the splines. I wouldn't think that would stop the shaft from sliding on there but maybe..

their site says something about a notch or something in one of the splines...

I know stock dodge boxes and steering shafts only fit on one way...1 spline is different than the rest and only lines up in one spot.

The paint on the shaft CAN be enough to make it too tight. Also, the shaft has a flat spot on it. If you could see the end of the shaft, it is kind of D shaped. This is where the u joint bolt should set. You have to look closely to see it, but it has to be lined up. One spline off could make it not line up.
