Well im not to worried if the motor goes.. I got the ramcharger and the buick for a backup vehicle... I have a little something sittin in the corner of the garage that can be dropped off at a builder that I just so happen to be very good friends with

Alright guys, yeah I realize you can't accurate check clearances by eyeballing it

I haven't found my replacement motor yet, and there still isnt a knock yet...

My only concern that comes to mind here is somehow bending the crank (if this even possibly by having too much play still?) and possibly ballooning my TC in the process...

It probably could be replaced while the motor is out anyway seeing how the clock on the transmission is probably close to dinging at almost 170k

The engine could totally grenade and not affect the trans at all.

Setting aside some cash for the trans rebuild you know is coming wouldn't be a bad idea though.
