Default Overhead Console Computer Installation

My truck didn't come with an overhead console with the compass and temp and MPG and stuff, and I was browsing ebay and saw one come across.

Something like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-01-Dodge-...#ht_500wt_1224

My question is though, how difficult would it be to install? Would you have to wire each individual thing or is there a plug somewhere in the dash that makes this easy???

Pop out the overhead unit you have and see what is up there. I suspect the sensors at the other end would be needed still. Just guessing though.

According to Dodge, the info is pulled from the ECU. They Couldn't tell me if the wiring was in place above the headliner though.

Maybe I'll take a look tomorrow and check it out. That sure would be nice to have....

I started this project last weekend. On my 98 the wiring is only there for the map lights and the connectors are different. It looks like it goes through the CTM which depending on the options your truck has may or may not have been installed. IIRC, if you have infinity system and keyless entry you are good to go on the install. But don't hold me to it. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in. Also, I thinks a thread is out there somewhere on this issue but darned if I can find it again. I really should bookmark these things.

I do have the infinity system but my keyless entry is aftermarket. if you don't mind, what is the 'CTM'?

So from the sound of it, this might be quite the project then?

CTM = Central Timer Module. Basically, its a network Hub. There are two versions, base, and hi-line. Need to find out which one you have.
