You cannot tell where the sound is coming from? Maybe drive slowly while someone is walking beside the truck can help tell where the sound is coming from.

U joints will click.

welcome to DF. can you put the rear end up on jack stands. spin the wheels by hand. start it up and try drive and reverse (gently).

Drain and check the fluid in the transfer case also. Could be you need one of these too.

You'll have to remove the tail shaft to check it. I wouldn't wait too long to check.

You know I was having the same problem the other day. I went to my buddys grad party out in streetsboro ohio and I was doing burnouts on in his street and sliding around turns on dirt and after about 15minutes of beating the hell out of my new 518 tranny I started to hear a grinding noise coming from the back. (I only have 2wd and the stock Dana 35 3.55) I headed off to the nearest Autozone and as I drove it went away before I made there and when I asked the guy what he thought it was he had no clue what it could be. It's been quite but I was swinging around in the dirt today and it slowly started to come back but as soon as I laid off it went quite. Not sure if this is the same problem your having. I'm guessing the axle shaft is heating up in the housing and rubbing but I'm just a backyard self taught mechanic.

You think maybe a Ram or any brand truck for that matter, is made for doing burnouts and/or donuts? LMAO

Well do you think it's anything serious or should I just ignore it and wait for something to explode?
