Overhead console removal?

Default Overhead console removal?

The Overhead console, the thing with the dome lights you press, the little storage compartments, etc.

How the heck does the darn thing come off? Cant figure it out for the life of me

Two screws at the front. Hooks on the back, you remove the screws, slide it forward/backward (can't remember which....) and it pulls down.

Agreed. Open the compartment door and you'll see the two screws. Remove them, and there are molded 'hooks' in the bottom of the console that slide into openings in the roof panel. It's a very easy removal / installation.

This is a good time to check the bulbs, before you install it, so you don't have to do it twice.

for some reason.... i dont remember there being any screws in my 01 overhead console. just 2 clips, and 2 slides. ill try to get a picture of it soon....

I don't know about '01 but I have changed these in '98 and '99 Rams and there are screws.

Didn't they make interior changes sometime mid gen in the Ram? I know the Durango got some interior changes too before the body changed. Maybe those changes included clipping up the console instead of screws.

No matter, both are equally simple.

quite a bit of stuff is 2000-2001 only on the 2nd gens. maybe this is one of them?
