Default Code P0440: EVAP system malfunction

I've encountered another code.

I finally cleared the P0304 code, only to get another. P0440, which is defined as a EVAP emissions control system malfunction. I know absolutely nothing about this, other than what the EVAP system is.

I've searched and searched and the best I can do is 3rd Gen Rams and Durangos with different engines.

Help me out, guys.

Does it smell like gas under the hood after start up? --that would be the charcoal canister on the frame (passenger side) check it's condition as well as the lines attached to it.

General EVAP codes are likely a vacuum hose issue. Check all the hoses for the EVAP system and If you find any dry rot, cracks, etc. the lines should be replaced.
Not sure exactly where the whole EVAP system is located on the older model rams, my 01 has it setup on the passenger inner fender.

His is 97, I think the canister is on the drivers side.... basically, check all the vacuum lines and such for breaks, or, evidence of carbon in the lines.......
