Thanks, lets see what other ideas come up from everyone else. Before its new truck, and no more bike, time. Oh and for anyone reading this, I baby the **** out of this truck, (rarely over 2k rpm, unless I'm playing and I always do a full fluid top off before and after playing, cause after all this is my daily driver, and I havent "played" in awhile).

Is this for REAL?

Check compression and get ready for a "brown pants" moment....

Yeah actually changed the oil and filter about one thousand miles ago. But I havent done anything fun in it in awhile cause I'm pretty much broke and dont live near the beach anymore, and when I did I basically just checked everything before and after and usually only has to add gas, and one time coolant b/c the reservior cap came off. I'll check the compression tomorrow and pray tonight it's not low. How many PSI should it be?

See what they read.....they should be close to each other. Check FSM for specs. And find out where the heck the oil is going! 5 qts in 1000 miles...it HAS to be leaving a trail and should be noticeable.

Not to sound like an *** but did you add oil after you changed it?? 5 quarts low it either all leaked out or it was never there... or your motor died silently which just doesnt happen

Yep, I doubt it would've made it 1000 miles. But I hope I didnt forget. The guy that was helping me was confused too, the oil's not on the driveway and theres not a massive amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust. It had to go somewhere. I hope it didnt just die. BUT, actually a friend of mine took his S10 to a quick lube and they forgot to refill the oil, siezed a piston a block or two away from the place. They bought him a new engine, wish I could blame someone else besides myself.

Motors die many ways, some just stop, some go boom, some spit parts out everywhere, a motor will die in its own way.

My grandfather's 89 Jeep comanchee pickup did that, just died one day. shortly after he put a new clutch in it, he was not happy. but got a great deal on his ranger.

like its been said before, 5 quarts is A LOT to just go missing without noticing. i'm not trying to tell you what to do, but if you KNOW you lose oil that bad, you should be checking your oil almost every day. it wouldn't have gotten that low if you checked it as often as you should have. i check mine every time i fill up the gas tank, and sometimes more. even though i dont leak any. peace of mind kinda thing.

Id suggest getting under the truck and looking all around. Its gotta be going somewhere. My bet is that if its not leaking on the ground anywhere where you park, you've got to be burning it. which could explain your truck "dying". You're o2 sensors are probably shot by now. Cat converter too. This is all assuming that you're burning it (plenum gasket or something else, compression)

also, i've delivered pizzas before, and i can't believe you deliver pizzas in that thing! lmao! i would never dream of doing that lol regardless, good luck! hope you get it worked out!

This is the first time Ive had anything like this happen. If i do get it running again i'll definately be checking the oil everytime i fill up. Wierd thing is ive been getting like 13-14 mpg, I thought a symptom of a clogged cat/bad o2 sensor was horrible mileage. Oh well, gonna work on it most of today. hopefully i can figure it out. thanks
